Mrs. Sarah Durkee currently serves as the 1st and 2nd grade teacher at St. John’s. She graduated from Martin Luther College in 1999 and was assigned to Our Savior’s Lutheran School in Longmont, CO where she taught grades 3-6 for 4 years. In 2003 she accepted a call to serve at St. John’s and taught 4th grade for 3 years.
Sarah married her husband Eric in 2004 and they have 3 children: Isaiah, Ivy and Levi. Eric has coached basketball at St. John’s for 13 years.
After taking some time off to raise her children, Sarah returned to teaching in 2014 as the half-time 4K for 3 years before accepting the call to teach 1st and 2nd grade.
Sarah directed Junior Choir and handbell choirs for 18 years and has directed the school musical for 14 years. She also serve as part-time organist.
Aside from teaching, Sarah also enjoys reading, music, cooking and spending time with her family.
