Mr. Craig Breitkreutz arrived in Baraboo in 2014 to serve as principal and upper grades teacher. Mr. Breitkreutz is also the athletic director at St. John’s.
Mr. Breitkreutz graduated from Martin Luther College in 2004 and was called as a dorm supervisor at California Lutheran High School in Wildomar, CA and release time teacher at St. Stephen’s Lutheran School in Fallbrook, CA. He was then called to be a teacher at Peridot Lutheran School in Peridot, AZ on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. It was during this time that Mr. Breitkreutz was considered a world missionary of the WELS. He spent 9 years in Peridot serving as teacher, athletic director, and principal.
In 2005, Mr. Breitkreutz met his wife, Charissa. They have been married for 11 years. They have been blessed with 4 children: Brett, Caitlynn, Emily, and Caleb. Charissa currently serves as an organist, Sunday school teacher, and hot lunch coordinator.
When Mr. Breitkreutz is not in the classroom, he enjoys playing and watching sports, camping, and hiking.
Mr. Breitkreutz is also studying for his Masters’ degree in education with an emphasis in leadership. He is set to complete this work in the Spring of 2020.
